Compo

Compo pieces are a unique and simple way to embellish your project. They are especially ideal for wooden boxes and altered books because they are designed to look like hand carved or molded ornaments.

Materials

Compo Ornament
Vintage Milk Paint
Mona Lisa water-based Medium
Bamboo brush
Super-fine Steel Wool

All materials, except brushes & steel wool, are available in the Vintage Paint Works Store.

Step 1:

Mix 1/8 tsp. Vintage Milk Paint with ¼ tsp. Mona Lisa water-based Medium. Brush onto compo and allow to dry completely.

Step 2:

Mix ¼ tsp. contrasting color Vintage Milk Paint with ¼ tsp. water. Brush over surface.

Step 3:

Once paint has dried completely. Burnish gently with steel wool until desired effect has been achieved. Please note that water will soften compo ornaments. Burnishing a wet or damp piece may damage it.
